I was so pumped about the show since the second I heard about it. These folks have such a great attention to detail, I am honored enough to have a Waldron piece in my collection so believe be when I say you won’t be disappointed . If you are anywhere remotely close to Rivet (I live 12 hours away, but if it was 6 I would be there in a heartbeat) do yourself a favor and check out this show.

Featuring handmade resin figures from around the globe. This show is going to be killer! I mean, personally and I know a lot of others share this opinion, but the vinyl releases over the last year have left me empty. But the resin releases over the past 365 days has shown that you dont necessarily the production value of a toy company to make great, quality figures that even exceed the QC of large place *cough*Kidrobot*cough*

With 3 years in the making the world can now stand in awe at Mark Ryden’s first gift to the vinyl world. Photographed here by the wonderful Brian McCarty, this figure is set to be released mid summer through John Gone John’s Necessaries Toy Foundation (the same place that brought the Camille Rose Garcia characters to life). There will also be an black edition with a run of 80 and a white edition with a run of 80. I am sure this will be a must have for a lot of collectors.

Idiot Box runs from April 2nd to the 23rd with a opening reception on the 2nd from 7pm-11pm hosted by Dennis “Mr. Belding” Haskins of Saved by the Bell Fame. The show will feature over 100 different artists and their takes on some classic tv shows.

RIVET is pleased to announce its upcoming two-artist exhibition, Luke Feldman & Shannon Bonatakis.

The exhibition will open March 7th, featuring work from both artists, and be on view in RIVET from March 7, 2009 through March 31, 2009. An Opening Reception for the exhibition will be hosted Saturday, March 7th, 2009 from 7-10pm and Shannon Bonatakis will be present.

Art Whino is teaming up with the Crystal City Business Improvement District (BID) and Tagür sneaker company to bring you an incredible exhibition of one-of-a-kind, customized sneakers, paintings, and photography.

Each artist will feature one pair of customized AKA Blank Tagür sneakers along with a painting.

Four photographers will be featured whose subject matter rangers from 80’s Breakers to customized semi trucks.

The event is FREE and open to the public.
